Kano Hisbah commences prosecution of 9 youths for immoral acts

The Faggae Outpost of Kano State Hisbah (Sharia police) Board on Friday said it has commenced prosecution of nine youths for allegedly engaging in social vices.

Malam Salisu Umar, the Commander, Special Services at the office of the board, told journalists in Kano that the suspects were apprehended around Sabon Gari area in the metropolis.

He said the suspects were arrested during a special patrol conducted by the Fagge local government office of the Hisbah.

He said the suspects were found dancing and romancing with men who were neither their husbands or close relations which is contrary to Sharia legal system.

He said the state have been practising the Islamic legal code that prohibits illicit attitudes, stressing we would intensify efforts on patrol of flash points.

“The suspects were females who were between the ages of 20 and 22 and they were apprehended around 12 :00:am at Farin Gida , Abedie road.”he said.

“We paraded them before a competent Sharia court for prosecution”he said.

He said the suspects were screened and taken to court and they were now awaiting trial in the state central prison as the case was adjourned to 4th of September 2016.

He said the board would not condone any act of immorality ,stressing we would arrest and prosecute whoever engages in immoral attitude.

He noted that that two of the suspects were divorcees bearing kids while one of them was carrying a three months old pregnancy.
